Oliver Vallejo

Oliver Vallejo fights for people who suffer severe injuries, including brain injury, back injury, amputation, quadriplegia, nerve damage, psychiatric injury, and orthopedic injuries. He helps victims of negligence, car accidents, defective products, explosions, burns, dangerous property, slip-and-falls, governmental negligence, toxic exposure, legal malpractice and crime. He has resolved many seven-figure cases.

Oliver joined the Veen Firm in 2001. He has written the following articles:

  • Successor-liability options in a product-liability case, SanFrancisco Trial Lawyers Association product-liability roundtable (2008).
  • Parts Unknown (discussing component-manufacturer product liability), San Francisco Daily Journal (Feb. 29, 2008, co-authored by Corey Friedman).
  • Often-Overlooked Tort Liability Theories In Workers’ Compensation Cases, Consumer Attorneys of California (2006).
  • Assumption Of The Risk And Recreational Premises Liability, Consumer Attorneys of California & Western Trial Lawyers Association (2005).
  • Whom to Sue in a Products Liability Action When the Original Manufacturer is Not Available, Western Trial Lawyers Association (2002, co-authored by Kevin Lancaster).

From 1998 to 2001, Oliver worked as a Federal Public Defender, where he represented clients charged with federal crimes. He tried 12 cases and wrote seven appeals, including these published decisions: United States v. Poocha, 259 F.3d 1077 (9th Cir. 2001); United States v. Taylor, 258 F.3d 1065 (9th Cir. 2001); and United States v. Coutchavlis, 260 F.3d 1149 (9th Cir. 2001). He also helped free hundreds of Southeast Asian and Cuban immigrants from indefinite detention by the federal government.

In 1998, Oliver earned his law degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. In 1993, Oliver earned a justice degree from the American University in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a legislative intern.

Oliver was born and raised in California. He is married and has a son and a daughter.
