Ramona Atanacio
Attorney
Ramona Atanacio is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the victims of catastrophic injuries. Her personal and professional experiences have given her a particular ability to empathize with those whose lives have been irrevocably altered by injury, and it is within all areas of litigation that she is therefore motivated to fight for each client’s best possible compensation.
Prior to joining The Veen Firm, Ms. Atanacio worked for a personal injury law firm focusing on toxic torts. She held a fellowship for the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies assisting in its policy and advocacy efforts towards the advancement of various gender-sensitive asylum laws. Ms. Atanacio also worked for the Institute of Justice and Democracy in Haiti on its impact litigation and Haiti Asylum Information Project.
Ms. Atanacio is admitted to practice in California state courts. She received her J.D. with a concentration in Public Interest from the U.C. Hastings College of Law. During law school, Ms. Atanacio worked on behalf of indigent defendants for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and for the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office. She also worked for the Honorable Judge Wilken and the Honorable Judge Armstrong of the United States Northern District of California.
Ms. Atanacio received her B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley. While in school, Ms. Atanacio directed the Associated Students of the University of California, Berkeley’s Renters’ Legal Assistance and worked for a general contractor.
